Roundtable on Architecture and Housing Justice in Mexico

Mexico City | June 27, 2023

The Roundtable on Architecture and Housing Justice in Mexico brought together local architects, housing advocates, North American academics and authors of recent publications on housing issues in Mexico. The intimate gathering surfaced urgent questions and promising examples, while providing the opportunity for a holistic exploration of trends and ways forward.

The program took on issues of climate change, belonging, and inequality in the city, in the context of housing justice. Short talks connecting research and practice opened into a facilitated discussion.

The proceedings, conducted primarily in English with some Spanish, were recorded and transcribed for future publication.

The event was hosted by Proyector in Mexico City, in collaboration with the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design and the School of Cities at the University of Toronto.

This event was supported by the School of Cities’ Small Grants Initiative.
