Brazilian Institute of Architects, São Paulo | August 14, 2025

This public roundtable explored how the right to housing—in Brazil and globally—isn’t just a political, legal, and economic issue, but also an architectural one. What does the right to housing mean in practice? And how can designers contribute?

Keynote speakers Carmen Silva, Downtown Homeless Movement, Ester Carro, Fazendinhando Institute, Bianca Tavolari, Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning, joined in conversation with Renato Cymbalista, FAUD-USP/FICA, and Architecture and Housing Justice Lab founding director, Karen Kubey.
